Giotto di Bondone

Giotto di Bondone was born around 1267 A.D. He is known for his almost life like artwork.
When he was a boy his dad had him take care of the sheep and while he was watching the sheep he drew almost life like pictures of the sheep. He was discovered one day by a famous artist-Cimabue.
Cimabue offered to take on Giotto as a apprentice and both Giotto and his father agreed.

Later he went with his master to go help paint a church remembering St.Francis of Assisi and did a Lot of frescoes in it. Later in life he painted the Scrovengi Chapel with frescoes of the birth of Jesus and Jesus life.

Hi Camille,

Do you remember the 3-D puzzle of a cathedral that is on the landing outside Grandpa's office at the bottom of the stairs coming down from the top floor rooms?

It is the cathedral in Florence and the tower is known as Giotto's tower because he designed it!

Enjoy your last days of being 10!
